This is a blog about my life and about traveling. My goal is to inspire others to travel to expand their way of thinking.

Today we had our MIDTERM for our hip hop class!!!
We had to perform the combination we’ve been working on for the past 4-5 classes with a random partner [out of a hat] in front of the whole class. The choreo is to the song Ring a Ling by BEP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnFhVwJ2wJo. It was SOOO NERVE RACKING!!!! My hands were seriously like shaking while I was waiting for perform. It’s one thing speaking in front of people or giving a presentation [which I can totally do] but dancing is something else. It was my turn like halfway through the class. I ended getting partnered with my friend Eric.
Soo… On the piece of paper you’re supposed to write your full name. Eric’s friend who wrote it for him, didn’t. Our teacher sort of got mad and made him write in his last name. She NORMALLY restarts the song.. She seriously did it for EVERYONE.. EXCEPT US. Since we’re been working with the same song you can easily fix yourself because your used to hearing certain parts of the song. However, since she started at a random ass spot it was hard to self correct if we were a bit off.
It’s true that we should be using counts and be basing it off the tempo.. but it was a bit unfair that everyone else had the song and parts they were used to…
I think we did fairly well though! The only thing was halfway through we weren’t in sync anymore. I think one of us was a count off or something so it didn’t look very uniform. Also, we BOTH didn’t look at each other since we were so focused so we didn’t synchronize. Overall it was a good experience. According to my friend I looked HELLLZA nervous. Haha, well, I was!
The performances varied. Some people were hella good and added their own little splash/flavor into it. Others did okay. Others danced but literally had no enthusiasm or energy.. It was more like just copying the movies with no energy.. Some forgot parts.. There was this one dude that halfway through forgot everything. That’s my biggest fear!! That I forget or blank out. Seriously when you’re in front of people your adrenalin just blocks your ability to access what you know. Everyone was reallly supportive though! It’s nerve racking for everyone and I think everyone just wants everyone else to do well/have fun. That’s the important thing. I think everyone’s improved a lot since day 1!
