This is a blog about my life, my thoughts, my journeys, and about traveling. My goal is to inspire others to travel to expand their way of thinking.

Today in hip hop we completed our first combination!! It felt like it was such a huge accomplishment. It’s a piece that goes to Ring-a-ling by Black Eyed Peas. The moves themselves are simple so it’s not AMAZING but I feel like it’s a stepping stone.
Compared to out first day of class where it took forever to learn the first combination, where we were all traveling off beat, where we were all struggling to try to undulate/body roll, and where we knew nothing of dance terminology.. it seems like the class is different now. I was talking to one my classmates who has taken Hip hop 1 and 2 at De Anza before and he said that this class of ours has a lot of energy and spirit compared to the previous semesters. He said everyone was really into it. I think once people shed their nerves and stopped caring what other people were thinking, we all began having a lot of fun.
Our midterm is next week on Wednesday. We’re going to perform what we’ve learned so far with a random partner that she picks out of a hat. It technically is a PE class at De Anza so it needs to be evaluated.
I feel more conditioned to dance now due to all of our warm-ups/exercises. I have a lot more control over my foot muscles, too I noticed. I’m glad I decided to take this class after all. Woot woot. I’m definitely still a beginner, but I’m having fun! That’s what matters right?
